Nearly 135 days after Russell Martin's first press conference as Rangers head coach, successor Danny Rohl met with the media at Ibrox for the first time.

The scale of the task ahead of him is well known, considering Martin's turbulent and unsuccessful four-month spell.

The former Sheffield Wednesday manager was joined by chairman the chairman, along with the frequently questioned duo of sporting director Thelwell and chief executive Stewart.

However, what precisely was revealed from the 36-year-old German's first public appearance as Rangers boss?

The Manager's Main Priority - Winning Comes First

A single message came through clearly from Rohl's initial presentation in front of the local press - he understands the need to secure victories, and achieve this rapidly.

His predecessor Martin lasted only 17 matches and four months in charge, so the inquiry arose about how long Rohl believes is realistic to turn around the struggling squad.

Although deftly sidestepping a direct answer that might create future pressure, Rohl's communication was quite clear.

"Hopefully very quickly," he stated. "This is crucial.
"In football you have limited opportunity. You can discuss future plans but we know it's about the short-term and that period is about securing victories. This is my requirement.
"One thing is also obvious - I need all players to understand how we want to perform. I come back to my primary theme: victory comes first, entertaining football and it's together. By following this order, I believe that I'll stay for years at the club."

Expectations are Standard

The previous manager needed a police escort to leave the stadium after his final game in charge.

We've witnessed how toxic situations can turn at sports teams when results decline. Protests have almost become a regular aspect of game day atmosphere on each part of Glasgow these days.

As the club's most youthful ever head coach, the inquiry asked about which attributes the coach thinks he possesses that would allow him to handle, never mind excel, in one of the highest-pressure roles in British football?

"In my opinion pressure in this business are standard," he commented. "You must learn that very quickly.
"I believe some people might mention my youth but I have been 16 years in this career. I had an excellent chance to be at Bayern Munich and be just the assistant manager, but I experienced what it means to be a head coach and the demands you face.
"You begin winning games and then certain people claim you must produce entertaining football. That's the next stage but that's exactly my intention. I enjoy those expectations and I look forward for the future."

The Sporting Director Explains Chermiti Signing & Appointing His Son

Kevin Thelwell media conference

The media pack had numerous inquiries from the media directed at Thelwell.

Significant attention has focused on the appointment of Robbie Thelwell as head of recruitment, with supporters unconvinced about his credentials for the position.

Nevertheless, he justified and clarified the decision to recruit his son to the club.

"It's always uncomfortable to listen and in appearance I believe everyone understood when we took this decision to appoint him that he'd be seen negatively," Thelwell said.
"The reality of circumstances is that we aim to bring the very best talent here.
"My perspective on his professional path and background is he required no family help in football.
"He served at Aston Villa as a senior scout, he then joined Norwich City as scouting chief and then was elevated to development role.
"Prior to our recruited him, two top division clubs wanted to sign him. Our approach right at the start of proceedings was consult with the CEO, the chairman and vice-chairman Paraag Marathe about this situation.
"I remained extremely open and I think Robbie probably experienced a stricter procedure than anybody else employee by this football club.
"What I do know is that he will work constantly to be successful for this football club and I'm looking forward seeing him demonstrating that he'll become an excellent employee for the club."

Additionally, Thelwell defended the signing of striker Chermiti, who joined the club for an alleged first payment of eight million pounds, having failed to find the net in 24 games for his previous club.

It was Thelwell who brought the Portuguese youth international to Merseyside from Sporting - again for significant money in a £15m deal.

He was asked if he supports his multi-million pound signing, who is yet to score in seven matches for the club.

"Absolutely, very much so," Thelwell responded. "I believe Youssef Chermiti is a player who's possesses huge potential.
"I've never doubted him in any way. Similarly, I believe the manager will help to get the best out of the player.
"These are early days for him, he remains young talent and naturally with inexperienced players they sometimes take time.
"However, I'm convinced throughout of his career at the club he'll demonstrate that he's a very, very good player."

The CEO Understands Supporters' Frustration and Anger

The chief executive was in the media firing line, considering the criticism that has been aimed at him by certain club fans.

Additionally, there was a sign in the Sandy Jardine stand during the last tie with United inviting him - and the sporting director - to depart before they were packed for him.

Similar to the football director, the CEO did not evade the topic.

"I totally appreciate the frustration and anger that the supporters are experiencing because results this season haven't been good enough and no one is happy with them," he stated.
"The hurt and disappointment fans experience is mirrored inside the boardroom.
"Also understand that there has to be an outlet for that dissatisfaction and in my role, that's me.
"I serve as lightning rod for those and my role as a
