Kai Trump can count on multiple well-known backers as she starts her professional golf debut on Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is the granddaughter of Donald Trump, was granted a sponsor's invitation to compete at Florida's Annika event in Florida.
Her grandfather, an avid golfer, possesses numerous golf courses and regularly matches against Kai.
"He's pretty good. I shouldn't elaborate but we play tight competitions," she stated.
She mentioned that her grandfather, who won't be present, counseled her: "Just avoid anxiety."
"My grandpa practically told me to compete and have fun," she added.
"From my perspective, he's simply a regular grandfather. He's not attending for the tournament. He's focused on running the country, so he's quite busy."
While still amateur, the golfer has played in only three events this year and has the 461st position in the American Junior Golf Association listings.
Yet she's able to receive tips from Tiger Woods, who is dating her mother.
"He is the best player globally," the young golfer said.
"Furthermore, he's a superior person. He told me to go out there, have fun, and go with the flow."
The golfer will compete against multiple the biggest names in the sport at the competition, featuring second-ranked the champion, British Charley Hull, professional Thompson and 2023 champion Lilia Vu.
Officials stated that her participation exposes the sport to different demographics, particularly reaching younger fans.
The young star has a massive following and has started an exclusive fashion and living brand.
She begins at late afternoon GMT.
